In this single-session class, students will be introduced to some of the key concepts and evaluation methods used by wine education organizations like the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) and the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) to taste wine in a critical and consistent fashion. Students will be introduced to the vocabulary used by these evaluation systems and learn techniques to calibrate their palate. We will go over the flavor profiles of several of the most common wine grapes during the process.
