Flexible Spending Accounts

FSAs let you set aside pre-tax dollars from your paycheck to help you pay for eligible out-of-pocket healthcare or dependent day care expenses. Remember! You must enroll in your FSA every year.

Financial Information

You can contribute up to the annual IRS maximum for your eligible annual health care expenses. You’ll receive a HealthEquity Healthcare Card to pay for eligible medical, pharmacy, dental and vision expenses.

A Limited Purpose FSA is available to you if you have an HSA. You can use the Limited Purpose FSA for eligible dental and vision expenses, but not for medical expenses.

You can contribute up to the annual IRS maximum to pay for eligible dependent care expenses, for children under age 13 or a dependent who is physically or mentally incapable of self-care.

Know the Rules

There are things to know about your FSA!

1

You must re-enroll in FSAs every year. That’s right. Every year.

2

You can’t transfer funds between the Health Care and Dependent Care FSAs.

3

  • If you don’t use all your Health Care FSA funds in 2024, you can carry over $610 to 2025.
  • If you don’t use all your Dependent Care FSA funds in 2024, there’s a 2.5-month grace period in 2025 when you can pay for eligible expenses with leftover 2024 funds.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

If you enroll in the HD Split medical option, you can set aside money in an HSA to pay for today’s health expenses or save it for the future. There’s no “use it or lose it” and Southern Glazer’s adds an annual contribution!

You can contribute up to $4,150 for employee-only coverage or $8,300 for any other coverage level, minus any contributions made by SGWS. If you’re age 55 or older by the end of the calendar year, you can contribute an additional $1,000 in HSA catch-up contributions.

Make it a Triple

The HSA comes with triple tax advantages.

1. Pre-tax savings. Your contributions come out of your paycheck before your taxes are taken out, which means you pay less in taxes. And SGWS’s contributions are not taxable.

2. Tax-free earnings. All earnings in your account grow tax-free.

3. Tax-free withdrawals. When you use the money for eligible healthcare expenses, there are no taxes to pay.

401(k) Plan

SGWS has a 401(k) plan with a company match to help you save for the future! After 6 months of service, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the 401(k) plan at a 2% contribution rate in the default fund. You can contribute between 2% and 100% of your eligible pay and SGWS will contribute to your account, too!
