President West Region
Patrick has been in many roles within the SWS/AWS/ PWS divisions. Prior to becoming the West Region President he was California’s SVP of Commercial Strategy. Patrick came to SGWS back in 1993 as a Wine Sales Manager. He then continued to grow with the Company into many roles; AWS NCA General Manager role, Pacific Wine & Spirits NCA General Manager for 2 years and then the Statewide General Manager of Pacific for 6 years. Patrick’s role as the SVP of Sales & Marketing where he successfully led sales strategies including planning, implementation, measurement and supplier acquisition. Patrick’s career in the industry spans over 34 years and he has held various positions at multiple companies, which include E&J Gallo Winery, Chateau St Michelle and Chateau St. Jean. Patrick is an active member in many charitable organizations. He has been a sponsor for the Samantha Corpus Foundation in the fight against Rett Syndrome, member of the President’s Circle at De La Salle Catholic High School, and a sponsor of the ASA Foundation. Patrick and his wife Nancy make their home in Northern CA with 4 grown children Andrew, Eric, Shauna & Cody.
President Central Region
Mike McLaughlin is responsible for a significant portion of Glazer’s sales and marketing performance. Prior to joining Glazer’s in May 2011, Mike was with Southern Wine and Spirits of America, Inc. and has over 25 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry, including management roles with Alaska Distributors, Skyy Spirits and Frank-Lin Distillers.
Regional President, Control States and Canada
Scott Oppenheimer serves as Regional President, Control States and Canada of Southern Glazer’s. Prior to joining the company, he served in a variety of sales, marketing, and leadership roles, most recently as Senior Vice President, Control States and Military for Moet Hennessy USA. Oppenheimer is a graduate of Regis University
President East Region
John Wittig has 31 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry. He was most recently Southern’s Executive Vice President and General Manager for the State of Florida. Prior to that, he spent five years as Southern’s Executive Vice President and General Manager for the State of Nevada. Before coming to Southern, Wittig was President of Glazer’s Illinois division, spent four years at Brown-Forman as Vice President Division Manager for 14 states and 16 years at Seagram America in various management positions—including 10 years as a General Manager.
Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations
Joined Southern in 2009 and has over 36 years of sales and marketing experience in the wine and spirits industry. Currently serves as EVP Commercial Operations. Prior to joining Southern, served as President and CEO of The Absolut Spirits Co, SVP of Marketing at Pernod Ricard and SVP of North America at Seagram. Currently serves on the board of the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
Executive Vice President, Supplier Management and Business Development
Ray has over 21 years of professional experience within alcohol beverage industry, which include progressive customer centric sales roles and national sales & marketing leadership roles. He currently is the Executive Vice President of Supplier Management and Business Development at SGWS America. Prior to that Ray held several progressive roles including V.P. Supplier Strategy SWS America, V.P. of Marketing & Sales planning SWS Florida , where he founded a statewide department focused on streamlining programing, pricing and sales effectiveness for SWS Florida suppliers and customers alike. Before coming to Southern, Ray held several sales and marketing roles at Bacardi USA. Ray is a graduate of University of Miami School of Business MBA- Management and his undergraduate accomplishments are from the Chaplin School of Hospitality Management at Florida International University. Most recently he participated in the joint commercial and operations executive leadership program at SWS.
Executive Vice President, National Accounts
Mr. Thurman’s experience in the alcohol beverage industry began in Denver with Gallo in 1979. In 1981, he joined Joseph E. Seagram's in Texas. After calling on Glazer's with Seagram's, he joined Glazer’s in 1982 as a Regional Supervisor in the Corporate Office. A series of branch, state, regional and marketing promotions allowed Thurman the opportunity to develop his career throughout the Glazer's organization in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Arizona. Mr. Thurman was Vice President, Glazer's Louisiana from 1996 - 2001, Vice President Business Development at the Corporate Office from 2001 – 2002 and Executive Vice President of Glazer's Alliance Beverage Arizona joint venture partnership from 2002-2010. In 2009 Mr. Thurman was promoted to EVP, Sales & Marketing for Glazer’s nationally. His most recent position was President/CEO of Alliance Beverage Distributors in Arizona from 2013-2016. Mr. Thurman received his Bachelor of Science from West Texas State University.
Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Beam Suntory Portfolio
Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Beam Suntory Portfolio. Truzzolino will oversee Southern Glazer's Beam Suntory business across Southern's current 30 states. Following the combination, he will also oversee Beam Suntory in seven additional states currently served by Glazer's, including Arkansas, Iowa wine, Kansas, Louisiana,Ohio low-proof and wine, Tennessee and Texas.
